In March 2020, the sustainability community in NYC was shook by the news that our curbside compost program would be put on pause for at least the next 14 months. Compost drop-off sites were suspended before that, which leaves very few options to divert food waste in the city. This has been a devastating blow to all of us who are passionate about climate change and the environment, and those individuals who have worked hard to bring composting to the forefront in New York City.

There are a lot of resources out there for what you can do to compost at home—whether its a backyard compost pile, vermicomposting, or working with a private hauler. During this workshop we'll discuss composting options in depth so you can figure out what's best for you and your lifestyle.
