Welcome to our 2024 Sustainable Holiday Gift Guide!
A disclaimer: If you plan to shop this holiday season I want you to first consider shifting the narrative around the holidays…and not gift anything. Suggest a potluck dinner with friends, go out to a local restaurant, or just get together and spend time with one another. Being with loved ones is what the holiday season is all about, not the things we gift each other.
Let’s face it, the holidays are hitting different this year. If you’re reading this, you probably had the same reaction as I did about the election results. We could all use some uplifting holiday spirit right now to take our minds off of the uncertainty the next four years holds for us all.
I fear that with everything we’ve all collectively been through, retail therapy is going to be through the roof this year. That’s where this gift guide comes in. As most of you know, I’m not one to tell you you can’t do this, or you shouldn’t do that. The reason I do what I do for this audience is to provide sustainable alternatives to things I already know most of us (including me) may do anyway. Climate action is more than sustainable gift giving, but if you’re going to buy gifts anyway, put some thought into it and take an opportunity to support companies that truly prioritize the planet, pay their workers fair wages, and care about our health and well-being, not just profits. The more we buy from these companies the more we tell corporate America we don’t support their bullsh*t.
Some of the links in this guide are affiliate links. I vet all the brands and makers that I work with very carefully and do my best to ask the right questions so I am only providing the best and most sustainable recommendations. I take this very seriously and will only represent brands/items I would use myself or already do.
